We are the
Custer PTO, and we support better education, more
resources, and safer schools in the life of every child in
every neighborhood. Join Custer PTO and experience the
benefits of membership. Please know that you are always
welcome at Custer. The PTO offers many resources to
families to become more involved in every aspect of their
child's education. Parent involvement can be as much or as
little as you can give. It can be as simple as making a few
phone calls to serving as a chairperson of a committee.
Custer PTO realizes that time has become the most valuable
commodity to families these days and even an hour a month
can be helpful to the PTO. By definition, the PTO consists
of all students at Custer, their families, and all of the
staff. The PTO is here to support and enhance the
educational experiences with funds and volunteers. The PTO
is a place for not only students and staff, but for the
whole family to interact and be informed as to available
enrichment classes, activities, and programs. The PTO is
active within many phases of school life. They provide a
committee for in-school health screening. They also sponsor
the Annual Custer Carnival, a school store, and an
After-School Enrichment Program. They provide survival kits
in each room of the school, three annual scholarships to
graduating seniors from Custer and several assemblies and
programs throughout the school year. Just becoming a member
of Custer PTO helps the PTO as a whole and gives a stronger
voice to the organization concerning every child's
education. By joining the Custer PTO all parents have the
opportunity to become involved in decision making about how
the PTO will operate. Custer PTO members are as diverse as
our community. We have working parents, stay-at-home
parents, single parents, teachers, and also grandparents.
Everyone is welcome to become a members and range of
involvement is entirely up to you. These are tender years
for our elementary children and we try to enhance them
every way we can. We would appreciate your attendance at
our monthly meetings to help them flourish. The PTO meets
every 1st Tuesday in the Custer library (with the exception
of September and January when we meet on the 2nd Tuesday.)
Child care is provided and regularly includes movies and
snacks. The meetings are from 7:00-8:00 PM. We look forward
to seeing you at our meetings. Custer PTO Membership is
very reasonable. The cost is $1.50 per person or $2.00 per
couple.
